Here is Pastor Jones’ announcement regarding our in-person worship during the Coronavirus Pandemic:

Pastor Jones Statement – Worship During Coronavirus Outbreak from Michael R. Jones on Vimeo.

We at Zion had planned to continue Lord’s Day worship in our usual manner despite the coronavirus outbreak, but the CDC’s new guidelines as stated by President Trump Monday afternoon to limit gatherings to ten people or less have forced us to reconsider our decision. We understand the Scriptures to teach that we have a responsibility not only to be a good neighbor but also to be good brothers and sisters in Christ to each other and this means doing our part to stem the spread of the coronavirus. In light of these new guidelines from the CDC and our desire to live out these responsibilities to our neighbors and to one another, the elders and I have made the difficult decision to suspend all gatherings, including worship services, until at least Wednesday, the first of April. We do not make this decision out of fear or paranoia, but out of love for God, our neighbor, and each other.

We do plan to continue ministry, however, using the technology available to us. We plan to gather together via Facebook live every Sunday at 11am and Wednesday evening at 6:30pm. If you do not have access to Facebook, we will post the video on our website shortly after the livestream is done. Please be sure to check our Facebook page and our pastor’s Facebook profile as well as the home page of Zion’s website at ziontaylor.org for up-to-the-minute information about livestreams and other media for Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Many of you have already asked about continuing your financial support of the church, during this time. The easiest ways to give are: (1) give online by going to any page of our website, scrolling all the way to the bottom, and clicking the big green button. (2) The other easy way to give is to send your check to the church and put it to the attention of Bro. Rich. (Please do not put “treasurer” or “tithe” or “offering” on it just so as not to indicate what is in it.) If you have any questions, just contact the church office or one of the elders and they can help you with that. If you send it to the church, they will process it asap. Just like at your home, the bills don’t stop just because we aren’t here. Please know how much we appreciate your financial generosity and faithfulness.

Please pray for our leaders, for our nation, for our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world while also reaching out to your neighbors and to those with whom you worship and serve to see how you may help them during this time.

In this as in everything, we trust the Lord while still taking prudent precautions and we urge you to do the same. This not a time for fear or doubt but a time to seek the Lord not only for our own congregation but for our nation and the world. God has always been faithful to his people and He will continue to be faithful to his people even through this situation. Remember the words of the Apostle who wrote, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” (Phil. 4:6–7).

Thank you and may God bless you as you seek to walk with him and grow in Christ.

In Christ
Pastor Jones
